WORLD TOURISM DAY 2021
The theme for this year’s 2021 tourism day is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”. World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on the 27th of September. This day marks the 41 anniversary of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) established on the 27th of September 1980. This organization was established to create awareness on tourism and how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. This year’s theme tourism for inclusive growth, is aimed at helping people to associate with tourism sectors in every possible way.
The covid 19 crisis has kept most of tourism activities on hold. To survive the pandemic everyone is expected to respect the world health organization (WHO) measures of maintaining social distancing, wearing of nose masks, avoiding public places and body contact with people, carrying along hand sanitizers and also staying at home as much as possible. This has demoralize a lot of people most especially those who need to release stress by visiting new places and attaining festive or fun events.
Green Cameroon celebrates this unique day by spreading awareness on tourism. The idea of visiting new places, learning about how diverse we are is biologically, culturally and socially recommended in our country and the world at large. Green Cameroon is calling on the governments of Cameroon and other African countries to put in more effort and resources to promote the ecotourism sector in their countries as ecotourism is so far the best form of tourism known to be financially beneficial and environmentally sustainable. Green Cameroon also urges everyone to join in celebrating this unique day and become part of tourism in their own way, as the world is beginning to open up again. Tour the world if you can, without leaving negative footprints.
Green Cameroon wishes everyone a happy world tourism day 2021
